Main Street Festival, Franklin, TN

We participated in the Main Street Festival in Franklin on April 29th and 30th giving us the opportunity to inform and educate so many people about our ministry.  We also want to thank all the children who stopped in at our booth to write a Love Note of encouragement for foster children.  And so many sponsors were in support of us, we were able to raffle four baskets filled with handcrafted items, gift cards, wine, and other goodies.  Each basket had a value of between $150 to $200.  100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Love on Wheels ministry.

We are growing as a result of all the dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and donors.  If you are reading this, thank you; please help us spread the word, volunteer, or donate to LOW.

April Deliveries to East TN

April showers bring May flowers, AND... Love on Wheels to East Tennessee.  On Thursday, April 6th, Kathy Kunkel met with Ginger Bradford and Erin Culbertson to bring LOW suitcases to East Tennessee.  Ginger is a volunteers for LOW assisting in four regions of East TN.  Erin works for the State of TN Department of Chidren's Services in the Northeast region of TN.

We want to thank the chain of volunteers:  product donors, blanket makers, LOW center volunteers, assembly volunteers, and suitcase transporters.  Many people add touches of LOVE to this process; with your help LOW has delivered over 1,000 suitcases to foster children in Tennessee since 2014.

"Let's Stand Together!" - LOW Volunteers Needed for Grassland Community Event

Ready to make a difference?

Our team at Love on Wheels is excited to announce that we are the selected nonprofit for the 2016 Grassland Gallop, a 6k run, 2k walk & 1k kids’ dash in the Grassland community in Franklin, TN.

That means we are planning this exciting event to benefit the precious children we serve, & we need your help.

Do you have a heart to serve, enjoy being outdoors, & are interested in being a part of our amazing volunteer team?

If so, please join us at our first volunteer meeting this Thursday night to learn more about the Grassland Gallop & how you can get involved.

Volunteer opportunities for the Grassland Gallop include managing water stations along the race course, organizing the kid’s craft station, face painting, judging Halloween costumes, setting up food & coffee stands, handing out awards, assembling goodie bags, & more.

Founder of Love on Wheels, Kathy Kunkel, D.V.M., said she believes this great community event will be a great way to show children that we care.

"Many children entering the foster care system carry around their few personal belongings in trash bags," said Kunkel. "As we prepare for the Grassland Gallop & fulfill our mission of filling suitcases with new & safe essential/comfort items, we inspire dialogue about the foster care system in general & the needs of these deserving children.”

Every year, the Bethlehem United Methodist Church’s Grassland Gallop raises money & awareness for a local nonprofit.

On October 29th, The Grassland Gallop will serve children in the foster care system in Williamson County & across the state through Love on Wheels.

“As we continue to take action & raise awareness, we improve the lives of the children & deliver a message of hope & encouragement,” Kunkel said.

Our first meeting for the Grassland Gallop will be at 6pm on Thursday, July 23 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, (2419 Bethlehem Loop Rd. Franklin, TN)  Conference Room One in Franklin, TN.

"Love on Wheels was founded & is operating in right here in Grassland.  This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in this annual, family-fun, Grassland community event,” Kunkel said.

“Let's stand together & make a difference!"

Business Students at Belmont University Give Presentations about Love On Wheels

Last Thursday, business students at Belmont University prepared presentations about Love on Wheels!

It was great to hear their thoughts on Love on Wheels and ways we can continue to raise awareness!

In addition to the presentations, each team wrote a 60+ paper! WOW!

We were so impressed by the students' presentations.  Those students have bright futures ahead of them!

Thank you to Belmont University and all the amazing students we met!
